Relate Mid Wiltshire

Relate Mid Wiltshire

Relationships, the bedrock of our lives, are at the heart of the services offered by Relate Mid Wiltshire.  Relationship breakdown can result in enormous pain and frustration creating a fraught environment for any children involved.  Young people often seek help with a mix of issues including family abuse, bullying, academic pressure and bereavement, we give them a chance to talk and find coping mechanisms for their situation.  We also offer counselling to support individuals, couples, those with sexual problems and families.

We provide a range of training courses in relationship skills for employees, parents and young people.  Relate Mid Wiltshire is an independent local charity and supports nearly 1000 adults and 750 children every year.

Bath Cancer Unit Support Group

Bath Cancer Unit Support Group

Bath Cancer Unit Support Group – Evolved from the Bath Cancer Unit First Appeal of the 1970’s when more than £1.25 million was raised to fund the purchase of an essential piece of equipment in the treatment of Cancer.  The Support Group replaced the appeal in 1985 and became a registered charity, No.292643. and to date have raised in excess of £2.6 million, from which further essential equipment has been purchased, specialist treatments have been funded, structural additions made and ambience improved.  The Trowbridge Fund Raising Branch, who will be in attendance over this three day event, has been in existence since 1988 and all its members look forward to making your acquaintance.

The Bath Cancer Unit Support Group (BCUSG) was formed by local people, to raise funds to assist in the treatment of Cancer patients from the Royal United Hospital catchment area of approximately 500,000 people. Patients attending the Cancer Unit come mainly from North & West Wiltshire, North Somerset and the City of Bath, with many from other areas also receiving treatment.

Unlike other Cancer Charities, such as Cancer Research, Tenovus and Macmillan Cancer Relief etc. which are pitched at a national level, the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group is for local cancer patients with its committee members and fund raisers, all volunteers, giving of their own time and expense.  This means of course that all funding is made available to the Cancer Unit and its patients.

If you wish to know more about the charity or feel that you can assist in any way please visit our website: www.bcusg.org or email: trowbridgefrb@bcusg.org

Thank you.

The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust

The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust

The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust operates three highly equipped transit vans, which travel throughout Wiltshire visiting the homes of elderly and vulnerable people who have been, or are at risk of being susceptible to burglary or domestic violence.  The trained Operators carry out a full security and fire risk assessment of each property visited.

This may result in the fitting of door locks, window locks and door viewers and the fitting of smoke alarms.  This service is free of charge.  In association with Wiltshire’s District Councils, the Trust launched the Sanctuary Scheme.  This scheme supports victims of domestic violence.  The Trust secures around 1,500 homes each year.

The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust

Referrals come to the Trust from Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, and many others who recognise the important work we do.  The Operators are available to give presentations to clubs and societies.

In 2008 the Trust celebrates its 10th anniversary.  It’s a milestone, which illustrates the continued demand for the service to secure homes of the elderly and vulnerable against burglary, fire domestic violence and hate crime.
