Free entertainment and activities for the whole family
This year there will be a dedicated children’s area where a wide range of activities will take place. The three days will be packed full with some old favourites and new features. All activities will be free, so come along and have some fun. Here’s a taster of what’s happening.
Alternative sports
There will be free ‘taster’ sessions and coaching for a variety of traditional and alternative sports and activities. All sporting activities will take place on the tennis courts located next to the Graffiti wall. The dancing will be located in the children’s activity area.

Discover Latino dancing as seen on strictly come dancing. Get ready to shake and shimmy your way through salsa and cha cha. Numbers are limited, so pick up your free ticket from the Show office.
Friday 27 July
Skate park (11 years +) Whether you are a beginner or more experienced, come and have a go with BMX and skateboard coaches from Rubicon Skateboards. All necessary equipment is available for skateboarding. For BMX, bring your own bike. Helmets must be worn.
Saturday 28 July
Basket ball (8 years +) Come and enhance your basket ball skills and enter the competition!
Ultimate Frisbee (11 years +) Come and watch the display by a local club on the main arena and then try your hand at this fast growing sport.
Skateboarding & dancing Organised by West Wiltshire District Council (insert logo) in partnership with Wiltshire Alternative Youth Sports Partnership (insert logo) and West Wilts School Sports Partnership.

Gardening
have a go at making cress heads and scarecrows (from recycled materials). Try your hand at flower pot decorating and pot your own plant to take home. Organised by Whitehall Garden Centre and Trowbridge & District Horticultural Society
Located in the children’s activity area and the Sensory Garden.

Visual Arts
Creative drum making Join the staff of Nutricia and make and decorate your own drum. When you have finished, join the Wiltshire Music Centre’s samba workshop. Using the drum you have just made, learn some great rhythms to play at the parade! This workshop is sponsored by Nutricia.
Weaving Join Anne for a fun weaving session that introduces children to the value of ‘scrap’ experimenting with different textures and colours.
Batik Join Suzy and make individual or family banners using the Indonesian method of Batik on silk. You can show everyone what you’ve done by carrying them in the daily parade at 16.30 – then you get to take them home!

Percussion join the Wiltshire Music Centre for a samba percussion workshop. Using the drum you have made in the creative drum making workshop, learn some rhythms to play at the daily parade at 16.30pm!

Gamelan – have a go at learning to play the Gamelan. The University Gamelan group will teach you some rhythms on these amazing Indonesian drums. Also enjoy performances of the Gamelan played by students of the Bath Spa University School of Music & Performing Arts. d

Children’s parade – why not come and take part in our art and music parade? Come to the percussion tent at 16.15 and join in the fun.
Come early to reserve your place as spaces are limited on most workshops. Go to the Show office or information points in the park for locations. All workshops listed are free of charge. All materials provided. Under 8’s must be accompanied by an adult.
